University Hill Fibre Optic Network on display

1/06/2010 Delegates from the City of Whittlesea's National Broadband Network: Possibilities & Practicalities for Local Government Conference 2010 visited University Hill in March to witness first hand the fibre optic network created.

Mr Geoff Aldridge of Opticomm and Mr Jason Wood from MAB presented to the delegates on the fibre optic network which is now being used by many residents and businesses. University Hill is years ahead of the majority of Australia as it is one of the first estates in Australia to boast a fibre optic network consistent with the Federal Government's National Broadband Network.

The University Hill network ensures that businesses and residents of University Hill will be able to have access to the latest changes in technology and will not be reliant upon old copper technology which will eventually be phased out by government.
